Theexpression and significance ofE-cadherin, β-catenin and P21 in the condyloma acuminatumABSTRACTObjective:Condylomaacuminatumis（condylomaacuminatum,CA）isaproliferativediseasesoftheskinandmucousmembraneswhichcausedbyhumanpapillomavirus（Humanpapillomavirus，HPV）infection,itmainlyoccursongenitals,oftenrecurrent,difficulttobecured.ThemainreasonofHPVpersistentinfectionisdifficulttoestablishaneffectivecell-mediatedimmunity.E-cadherinisaCa2+dependenttransmembraneprotein,mainlyexpressedintheepidermalbasallayerandthekeratinocytes(keratinocyte,KC)andLangerhanscell（sLangerhanscell,LC）,mediatetheadhesionbetweenKCandbetweenKCandLC.ItimportantLCintheepidermisbasallayerofthepositioningandretention.E-cadherinisimportanttotheLC’spositioningandretentionintheepidermisbasallayer.SothatLCformsthenetwork-likedistributionintheepidermisandplaysanimmunesurveillancefunction,whiletheLCisinitiatorspersonsofspecificitycellularimmunecausedbyHPVinfection,andtostimulateTlymphocytetocauselocalizedspecificcell-mediatedimmunity.ThenumberanddistributionofLCandtheexpressionanddistributionofE-cadherinhaveacertaincorrelation,soE-cadheriniscloselyrelatedwiththeoccurrenceanddevelopmentofCA.E-cadherinandβ-cateninformacomplexE-cad/cattoplayanormalcelladhesionandsignaltransduction.β-cateninisakeyregulatoryfactorinthewntsignalingpathway,itplaysanimportantroleinsuchareasasgeneactivation,apoptosis,cellproliferationandmigration.ThemainclinicalandpathologicalexpressionofCA weremainlyhyperplasia.Thereareexperimentalresults showthat:Wnt-1overexpressedintheCAtissue, wntsignalingpathwaycanpromotecellproliferation,whiletheβ-cateninasakeyregulatingcellularfactorsofwntsignalingpathwaymaybeinvolvedinKChyperplasiaofcondyloma.P21isanimportantmemberofcyclin-dependentkinaseinhibitorswhichdiscoveredin recent years，it is an important proto-oncogene. P21 can transferextracellularserosalvarioushyperplasiasignalstothetranscriptionfactorsofnucleus,participateinthetransmissionprocessofthecellgrowthsignals. Itistheimportanttothetr
