The Kids’ Guide to Working Out Conflicts By Xie Yixian 谢一仙 教学设计 一、教学目标 (一)知识与能力 学生能在具体的情景中灵活运用以下语言: Cause, annoy, upset, be aware of, outcome, respond, calm down, avoid, gain, responsible, blame, compromise, put-down, respectfully, affect, congratulate等。 能用目标语言对文章加以提炼、总结。 增强以下阅读能力: a.通过快读迅速概括信息 b.通过细读捕捉重点信息 c.运用mind-map 对文章加以提炼、总结。 (二)情感态度与价值观 了解矛盾的概念及诱发原因;进而习得如何解决矛盾的方法:树立勇于面对问题解决问题的勇气和信心。 (三)过程与方法 滚动式语言积累;运用思维导图对文章加以提炼、总结。 二、教学重难点 1.掌握新词汇在具体情境中的含义,能运用新学词汇达到语言输出。 2.体会文章主题,勇于面对问题,善于解决矛盾,挑战自我,并能联系自己实际表达看法。 三、教学设备 多媒体课件 四、教学步骤 Step1: Warming-up. Share a video. T: What happened to them? Let’s review. 设计意图:通过轻松搞笑的视频导入今天的话题“conflict”,让学生直观的体会到何为“conflict”,并巧妙的解决部分对阅读构成障碍的词汇,对接下来的深入讨论作好铺垫。 Step2: presentation T: First, Little Blue says the Mustang is his. But Little Yellow uses put-downs. They have disagreements. T: Little Blue can’t calm down and smacks Little Yellow. This annoys Little Yellow. He blames Little Blue. T: But Little Blue doesn’t compromise. The outcome is ----- Little Yellow hit him. 设计意图:通过回顾视频内容,呈现put-down, disagreement, calm, annoy, blame等部分生词,为阅读扫除一部分障碍, 同时也能第一时间让学生感受到本课的主题。 Step3: Reading Pre-reading look at the picture: from the picture, there are two girls shouting. Do you shout at your friends if you have conflicts? 设计意图:引导学生从插图,获取文本信息,培养阅读技巧。 2. While-reading Let Ss look at the title and go through it. T: How many paragraphs does it include? S: Six. Ⅰ. Fast-reading Let Ss read the article and divide it into three parts. Match each part with the main idea. 设计意图:通过快速阅读,让学生对文本框架有一定了解,引导学生阅读文本时可关注小标题,提高阅读能力。 Ⅱ. Careful- reading 1. Let Ss read the first paragraph and get to know the definition of a conflict. 设计意图:文章三个部分非常明显,按照这个框架,用问题的形式梳理文章的细节,条理非常清楚。学生一下就能抓住文章的主旨。 3.Post-reading.
