I. Discuss the following questions after reading the passage.
1. What are the common career planning mistakes?
---Confusing what youre good at with what you like to do.
---Confusing avocations with vocations.
---Confusing one aspect of a job with the whole job.
2. What kind of job will you choose, the one you are good at or the one you like to do?
---First we should know there is difference between the job you are good at and the one you like to do.
---If you are good at a job, you can do it very well. But you may have no interest in it, nor can you get any pleasure from it. In one word you may not realize what you want and can not enjoy your working life.
---At the same time, you may like to do a certain job, though you are not good at it. But you may put all your heart and soul in it, for it is your favorite one and it is inspiring and delightful.
3. What is the difference between avocations and vocations?
---Avocations mean that you are interested in doing something in
your spare time like dancing or cooking etc. They are just auxiliary
activities apart from your job.
---Vocations refer to the particular occupations for which you are
particularly trained and on which you will depend to make a living
throughout your life.
