AbstractWith the development of science and technology, efficiency becomes the underlying factors of productivity effect. Enterprises are in pursuit of high efficiency and machine tools develop in the high-speed, high-precision and heavy- load direction. Linear rolling guide as a functional unit is widely used in machine tools and the problem of its braking function and stiffness looms large. Numerous studies have demonstrated that adding component -clamping device to linear rolling guide is the only effective solution. Only a few advanced countries in the world master technologies of clamping device and they share it internally. The development of clamping device lacks of technologies in China. It’s necessary to research the theory of clamping device.This dissertation conducted in-depth research on linear guide and clamping device, considered the functional characteristics which clamping device should satisfied, followed the general principle of mechanical design and designed a new hydraulic normally open clamping device for linear rolling guide of HTPM. Strength check has been proceed toward the transmission of new clamping device. Test schemes of retentivity an answer time were proposed.This dissertation elaborated the wear mechanism and characteristics of clamping device in braking process, summarized the main form of wear, establish the relative sliding model between clamping device and linear rolling guide. Wear model of clamping device was established based on Tribology theory and Fractal Principle. Considering the influence of the tangential force on the contact area and the actual contact surface, the wear model of clamping device was revised. The model has dynamic characteristics and reflect the influence of surface topography on wear.By synthetically comparing friction material, finally semi metallic friction materialwithout asbestos was chosen as the material which was used in friction contact surface of clamping device.
