AbstractExpandingmobileservicescalebringschallengetothescalabilityoftelecommunica-tioncorenetwork.Asthenextgenerationcorenetworkproposedby3GPP,IMS(IPMul-timediaSubsystem)hasbigscalabilityproblemduetothecentralizednetworkarchitecture.UsingP2P(Peer-to-Peer)toimprovethenetworkarchitectureofIMShasbeenconcerneduniversally.P2Pisoriginallydesignedforbackgrounddownloadingapplications,whensupportingIMSnetworkarchitecture,theserviceperformancecannotsufficethetele-communicationrequirement.ToimplementthetelecomstandardP2PIMSnetworkarchi-tectureandtoproposeaschemeforIMSP2Pevolutioncanbetheoreticalandpractical.First,thispaperbringoutRELOAD(ResourceLocationandDiscovery)basedP2PdistributedIMScorenetworkarchitecturetosolvetheproblemthatexistingP2PbasedIMSdistributednetworkreformingcannotsufficethetelecommunicationrequirement.IMSusesSIP(SessionInitiationProtocol)whichisproposedbyinternationalstandardorganizationIETFtoimplementitsbasicsessioncontrolfunction,andIETFP2PSIPworkinggroupgivesoutRELOADprotocolasthecarrier-classstandardofnetworkto-pologymantainanceinP2PdistributedevolutionschemeofSIP.Therefore,usingRE-LOADtoimplementP2PdistributednetworkreformingofIMScanbeanevolutionofdistributedIMSandbeacceptedbystandardorganization.Then,inP2PdistributedIMScorenetwork,weimplementtheimprovedChordalgorithmfornetworktopologyman-tainance,anduseretroactiveroutingmechanism,improvedstabilizationmechanism,mul-tipleDHTdivisionsrecoverymechanismandnodesreactiverecoverymechanismtoas-surecarrier-classserviceperformance.Andthen,weproposemechanismsofnodesfunc-tiondivision,SIPURLhashvaluebasedserviceallocationanddistributedDHTquerybasednodeslookup,whichprovidewellassuranceofnetworktopologymaintainance,loadbalanceandefficientnodeslookuprespectively.EvaluationhasprovedpracticablilityoftheRELOADbasednetworkreformingofIMSandthesystemscalabilityandloadbalance.Incomparison,wecanachieve1-hop-routingunderanodesscaleofcertainnodesnumber,wecanalsoensureahighquerysuccessrateevenundercomplicatedoverlaynetworkenvironm
