Different kinds and thickness of coating exhibit different performance. Coating selection is particularly important. Coating defects in metalcan would significantly shortenshelflifeoffoodandloweritsquality.Inordertosolvetheproblemofinner coating defects in metal can, locating and detecting defect area are helpful to improve metal cans’ production process and products’ quality.To this end, a local electrochemical probefor detectinginnercoatingdefects inmetalcanincylindrical space is needed.This device isgoing to locateand detect inner coating defects. It should beableto scanelectrochemical informationin planarandcylindricalareain metalcan,andquicklyandaccuratelylocateandevaluatedefectarea. Forthe purposeof locatinganddetectinginnercoatingdefectsinmetalcan, a solid Ag/AgCl reference electrode was prepared in this paper. The solid Ag/AgCl referenceelectrodehadgood potentialstabilityin3.5%NaClsolution.Itcouldmeet the requirements for open-circuit potential and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy test in metal can.
