thanperipheralwords.Experiment3exploredtheparagraphinformationprocessingofcentralconceptsundertheme-unrelatedfoils.Theresultshowedthatcentralconceptsaremoredifficulttoaccessthanperipheralwords.Experiment2andExperiment3demonstratedthattheprocessingofcentralwordsdefinedbytheme-relatednessinparagraphswasaffectedbyfoilfeatures.Whenfoilfeaturekeptthesamewiththeoneofcentralwords,i.e.,theme-related,centralwordsweremorequicklyaccessedthanperipheralwords.Whenfoilfeaturekeptdifferencewiththeoneofcentralwords,centralwordsweremoredifficulttoaccessthanperipheralwords.Therefore,centralconceptinformationprocessinginparagraphwastheprocessingoflocalinformation.Itcouldinferthatreaderskeeplocalcoherenceduringparagraphreading.Iteasilycausedinterferenceinreadingcomprehensionwhenlocalinformationdidnotkeepcoherence,i.e.,nosemanticconnectionsbetweenfoilsandcentralconcepts.Experiment4exploredtextmultiplecentralconceptprocessingundertheme-relatedfoilcondition.Experiment5exploredtextmultiplecentralconceptprocessingundertheme-unrelatedfoilcondition.Bothexperiment4andexperiment5demonstratedtextmultiplecentralconceptsarereadilyaccessedthanmultipleperipheralconceptsnomatterwhatfeaturethefoilshad.Therefore,centralconceptprocessinginparagraphwasaprocessofconstruction,centralconceptprocessingofthewholetextwasaprocessofintegration.Bothinformationprocessingofparagraphandtextwerethecombinationofconstructionandintegration.Theresultsoftheprocessingledtoformamentalsituationalmodel.Third,itexploredresearchonreadingteachingbasedonlearningstrategies.Itinvestigatedtherelationshipsamongparagraphreading,textreading,andlearningfactors.Thesurveyshowedreaderstendedtousecomprehensivereadingstrategiesmuchfrequentlyduringtextreading.Onthecontrary,theytendedtouselocalstrategiesmuchfrequentlyinparagraphreading.Accordingtothesesurveys,teachingtrainingprogramswerecarriedout.Beforetraining,textbookanalysisoffastreadingofCollegeEnglishwasconducted.Itshowedthatquestionsoflookingforspecificandlocalinformationoccupiedalargerp
