Chapter Three Terms of Delivery (2)(国际贸易术语) 13 Terms 1. Ex Works….named place (EXW) Definition: This term means that the seller fulfils his obligation to deliver when he has made the goods available at his premises (ie. Works, factory, warehouse, etc) to the buyer. Note: Under this term, the buyer has the greatest responsibility. He clears customs for export and carries out export formalities and arrange for transport and insurance. 2. Free Carrier….named place (FCA) Definition: This term means that the seller fulfils his obligation to deliver when he has handed over the goods ,cleared for export, into the charge of the carrier named by the buyer at the named place or point. Note: 1) This term may be used for any mode of transport, especially good for containerization. 2) The seller carries out export formalities and clears for export. 3) The buyer is responsible to arrange for transport and insurance. 3. Free Alongside Ship…named port of shipment (FAS) Definition: FAS means that the seller fulfils his obligation to deliver when the goods have been placed alongside the vessel on the quay or in lighters at the named port of shipment.. Note: 1) This term is only used for sea or inland waterway transport. 2) Under Incoterms 2000, the seller is required to clear the goods for export and carry out export formalities. 3) The buyer has to bear all costs and risks of loss of or damage to the goods from that point. 4. Free On Board … named port of shipment (FOB) Definition: FOB means that the seller fulfils his obligation to deliver when the goods have passed over the ship’s rail at the named port of shipment. Note: 1) This term is most frequently used. 2) This term can only be used for sea or inland waterway transport. In practice, it is used for any mode of transport. 3) The buyer has to bear all the costs and risks of loss of or damage to the goods from that point. 4) The seller clears for export and car
