AbstractInacademia,theresearchtoZhangJunmai’srevivaloftheConfucianThoughtsin1950-60’sisbecomingmorecomprehensiveandmoredeeplyinrecentyears,however,theacsdemiccirclesofhangJunmai’s1950-60’srevivaloftheConfucianThoughtslaymoreresearchworksonit.Itcontainstwointegralpart—theexpoundedoftheConfucianismandtherelationshipbetweenChina’sModernizationandtheRevivaloftheConfucianThoughts,Theformeristodiscussthelatterbasis,thelateristhepurposeoftheformer,butpeopleoftenoverlooktheformer.First,basedonZhangJunmai’sacademicactivitiesin1950-60’s,thispaperpointsoutthatZhangJunmai’srevivaloftheConfucianThoughtshasdeepbackgroundandideologicalroot,thethoroughanalysisfrompolitical,economicandsocialaspects.FirstlyPoliticallyspeaking,after1949,ZhangJunmaibasicallyleftthepoliticalarena,sohehasmoretimetodoacademicresearchthanbefore.Secondly,ZhangJunmaithinksitisnecessarytoexplaintheConfucianThoughtsagain,forchangingthewesternscholars’sviewaboutChinesetraditionalcultureheavymisunderstanding.Onceagain,ZhangJunmairesearchwesternphilosophyfordecades,andfindtosolvethecrisisofwesterncultureshuuldbacktoConfucian.Finally,facingtheprocessofChina’sModernizations,ZhangJunmaihavetothinkabouttheConfucianThoughtsshoulddecideonwhatpathtofollow.TheexpoundedoftheConfucianismisthefirstimportantpartofZhangJunmai’srevivaloftheConfucianThoughts.Itcontains:thespiritvaluesofConfucian,thecharacteristicsandpropositionsoftheConfucianphilosophy,thebasiccategorysandprinciplesConfucianethics,thedemocraticseedsinConfucianpoliticalphilosophy.BasedonZhangJunmai’sConfucianismin1950-60’s,Isummarizethreecharacteristics:particularlypraisemenciushighly,assimilatewesterncultureintoConfucianism,innovatetoconsolidatethefoundation.InthemodernnewConfucianism,ZhangJunmai’srespectiononMenciusistheoneandonly.BecauseoftheWesternlearningintoConfucianismisthecommoncharacteristicofmodernnewConfucianism,butZhangJunmai’sisunique.TheinnovationtosolidiswhatZhangJunmaiinthetreatmentofConfucianattitudeisdifferentfromothermodernnewConfucianism.Trea
