There are any number of questions that you can ask that could help your client think more seriously about lessening the importance of their reasons for not changing. They can’t make a decision because they are torn in two opposite directions, one toward change and one toward not taking any action. * This is the same strategy that was used for the client whose reasons for not changing are much more important than their reasons for changing. * Clients who are this motivated, are ready to take action. First though, determine the level of their ability and confidence to make a change. * If your client could increase their confidence and ability they may be more motivated to change.
