Feminism Reading of“My Last Duchess”and “Porphyria’s Lover”Abstract: Robert Browning of the Victoria Age was extremely talented one among the world’s talented poets. He was famous for his diversified subjects and unique styles. This article seeks to feminism in his poems. In Robert Browning’s two poems, “my Former Duchess” and “Porphyria’s Lover” ,there is always a woman who seeks for feminism and tries to be against for male chauvinism. This present thesis tries to read Robert Browning’s “my Last Duchess” and “Porphyria’s Lover” from a feminism point of view to analyze these two poems, giving a conclusion that women try to be against for male chauvinism and seek to feminism. Male chauvinism is the belief that men are superior to women. This is closely associated with sexism and misogyny, and other forms of believing that women are inferior to men, especially intellectually.① Edgar Allen poe once said that the most poetic theme of a poetry is the death of a woman. And Robert Browning successfully highlight the male chauvinism through the death of the two women：the duchess and Porphyria.
