浅析以学生为主体的英语教学模式的运用 【关键词】教学模式;以学生为主体的课堂教学;角色转换;交际活动;强化动机 I. Introduction As we know, the?“teacher-centered” teaching mode has influenced China’s English teaching for a long time. And we find a lot of defects in the development of traditional teaching mode, for example, many teachers think that their several years’ teaching experience is easy to apply the old teaching model, so they are reluctant to(or they are afraid to)challenge a new teaching idea. Therefore, the lack of communicative competence among learners and the lack of efficiency in our English teaching become a public attention. How to solve this problem? Learner-based teaching mode, as a new one, brings us new teaching idea. Learner-based teaching mode aims to attach importance to learners themselves and emphasizes the communicative function of language, so it seems that learner-based mode is the best one to replace the traditional mode. Compared with the traditional?“teacher-centered” mode, this paper presents and analyzes some problems in the application of learner-based teaching, such as the shift of teacher’s and learner’s role, the application of communicative activities, strengthening learners’ motivation and so on. It is believed that the adoption of learner-based teaching is an effective way to improve our English teaching learners’ communicative competence. In order to understand the learner-based teaching better, let’s first focus on the curriculum design, since the learner-based teaching is characterized by the involvement of the learner in all aspects of the curriculum process. In learner-based teaching, curriculum design can be seen as a negotiating process between teachers and students. This differs from traditional teaching to curriculum design where these decisions are made by?‘outside’ experts such as needs analysts or course planners.
