August 5, 2009 HONG KONG/CHINA EQUITY Investment Research _ Private Circulation Only Swee-Koon Tan +(852) 2525 1118 sk.tan@.hk Coslight Technology (1043.HK) Power for mobility, communication, and growth With the recent issuance of 3G licences, and the related Chinese telcos’ mobile capex, we expect Coslight to benefit significantly from the large scale 3G network rollout in the coming 3 years. With the Chinese government’s emphasis on a cleaner environment and adoption of alternative energy policies, Coslight is strategically positioning itself with its advanced battery technologies to capture a slice of the battery market for electric bikes and hybrid / electric autos. We believe that Coslight is very likely to benefit from the recent re-rating of both the telecoms and alternative energy sectors. We initiate coverage with a BUY and TP of HK$10.24. Our TP is derived based on sum-of-the- parts valuation, and suggests a potential upside of 47% over the next 12 months. August 5, 2009
