The Romantic Bonze ——Tsangyang Gyatso Question: Who is Tsangyang Gyatso? Don’t worry! I’m going to introduce the famous poet and bonze to you all and tell you something. First , let’s have a look at a beautiful poem! The Ten Admonishments(戒律)  The first, you’d better not meet each other, then you may not fall in love.   The second, you’d better not know each other well, then you may not be lovesick.   The third, you’d better not accompany each other, then you may not owe each other.   The fourth, you’d better not treasure each other, then you may not recall each other. 第一最好不相见,如此便可不相恋。   第二最好不相知,如此便可不相思。   第三最好不相伴,如此便可不相欠。   第四最好不相惜,如此便可不相忆。 The fifth, you’d better not fall in love, then you may not abandon anyone.   The sixth, you’d better not face each other, then you may not have tryst.   The seventh, you’d better not harm each other, then you may not let down each other.   The eighth, you’d better not make a promise, then you may not go on.   第五最好不相爱,如此便可不相弃。   第六最好不相对,如此便可不相会。   第七最好不相误,如此便可不相负。   第八最好不相许,如此便可不相续。  The ninth, you’d better not rely on the other, then you may not snuggle.   The tenth, you’d better not run across each other, then you may not have a meeting.   第九最好不相依,如此便可不相偎。   第十最好不相遇,如此便可不相聚。 The author of this poem is Tsangyang Gyatso. Maybe you have guessed out his Chinese name. Yeah! His Chinese name is “仓央嘉措”. Quiz: Is he Japanese? The answer is “no”! The first time I saw his name, I thought he was Japanese or so. However, he is Chinese in fact! He is Tibetan! What’s more, he is related to the famous Tibetan separatist— — The fourteenth Dalai, because he was Dalai, too. Surprised? Yeah, It’s true!
