Kind regards Jim E mail from HR Asia Jim. thanks for your e mail and for your concern, yes things are bad, heres the updated news; Out of nearly 1600 employees, we have 32 staff hospitalised in Japan, so far 5 deaths and Im told at least 6 others will not be returning to work. There’s no vaccination currently available for this disease Jim, Ive checked with the insurers. Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia are not covered for terrorism. Basically we’re not covered for life insurance, medical and disability for our employees and the costs are mounting up. Here’s my estimate so far….. I just wanted to check; What is our exposure in Asia? Is this covered by Catastrophe or terrorism insurance? What will happen to these losses?
