There are so many discriminations in the society, and they are reflected in many aspects towards people抯 daily life. The English Language is one reflector of sexism in society; it affects and is affected by the social reforms. Where exists the unequal treatments there will be struggles, so there comes the Women抯 Liberation. Women抯 Liberation has great influence on non-sexism in English Language. The paper focuses on the embodiments of sexism in English and the development of Women抯 Liberation that leads the non-sexism campaign in English.[Key Words] Sexism, English ,Women抯 Liberation, Non-sexism. 中文摘要【摘 要】 语言是社会的产物，语言的使用现状是社会现状的一面反光镜。社会中存在的性别歧视可以体现在社会生活中的各个方面，英语反映了社会语言中的性别歧视，它与社会变革相互影响相互制约。有歧视必然有反抗，女权主义者们为维护妇女的合法权益，平等权利，展开了一系列的斗争，女权运动应运而生。随着女权运动的深入发展与壮大，对社会的影响也逐渐扩大。女权运动改变了妇女在社会生活各层面的地位与影响，对英语语言起到了不可磨灭的巨大影响。本文分析了性别歧视语在英语中的体现，女权运动及女权运动与消除英语中性别歧视的关系。【关键词】 性别歧视语；英语；女权运动 1. IntroductionLinguistic sexism is a kind of social phenomenon that reflects the certain traditional social value. One of the Sexism’s definitions is that “The discrimination based on gender, especially discrimination against women.擺1]P166Otto Jesperson, the Danish linguist, in his Growth and Structure of the English Language(1923), points out that English is the most masculine language as far as he is concerned. Having a long history and influencing the world extensively, English has experienced innumerable reformations, which updates the language constantly.
