Task Writing an e-mail to give information
Teaching Aim:
To learn and practise their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
To learn how to write down the answers, how to take notes for future action as well as how to write an e-mail to someone.
To learn how to write an e-mail to your uncle.
Teaching Key Points:
Make sure the students can catch the information they need.
Teaching Difficulties:
How to write an e-mail.
Teaching Procedure:
Step One: Skill Building 1
Ask the ss some questions, then listen to the tape, and complete the notes of Part A Part B.
Read Part C on page 59 and compare the information about different means f transport and to compete the notes.
Step Two: Skill Building 2
Ask some students to read the guidelines in this part and complete the questions.
Ask the students to work in pairs to make up a dialogue about buying tickets.
Step three: Writing a letter to your uncle.
One possible version:
Dear uncle,
We’ve decided to go to Dalian by train after comparing different means of transport. Dalian
is a port city and it is convenient to get there by ferry, but we will have to go to Shanghai first.
