An Initial Survey on Jane Austen’s Writing Technique Abstract：With the development of the society, women are playing more and more important roles in various aspects of the modern society, and their statuses are also enhanced. However, traditional ideologies are deeply rooted; women are still treated unfairly, and they have to fight against traditional prejudice and self-cultivation to their status’s enhancement. Pride and Prejudice is reflected the middle-class family background of woman on marriage different attitudes of societyat Austen’s time. Her works, although small in number, are all of high literary value. As a woman writer, she shows a great deal of concern about the prevailing gender discrimination against women of her time and forms her individual nation on this problem, which are implied in her novels. B. Writing technique of the Austen Jane Austen completed six novels, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion ,Sense and Sensibility ,Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park and Emma. Each is perfect, and there is no choosing between them for one who enjoys her quite irony and her simple delicate analysis of character. There are no heroic passions nor astounding adventures. And in all her novels the love-making of her young people, though serious and sympathetic, is subduced by humor to the ordinary plane of emotion on which most of us live. She was the founder of the novel which deals with unimportant middle-class people and of which there are many fine example in latter English fiction. Her style is easy and effortless. Austen is a realistic novelist who has created the first scale of universally acknowledged British realistic novels in the nineteenth century.
