Step1 Greetings: Greet the whole class as usual. Step2 Lead-in Warming up What is the date of _the spring festival/Thanksgiving Day/Christmas Day__? __________ on the first day of the lunar January __________ on the 25th of December __________ on the fourth Thursday of November. Step3 Learn the new words by reading then fill in the blanks Step 4 Ask the students to read the text quickly and put the sentences into English Step5 Explain the notes of the text. 1 The Spring Festival is coming . is coming 是进行时,表示将来要发生的事。例如come , go Arrive , leave ,get, return 等可用进行时表将来。 如:My friend is leaving for Shanghai. 2. no matter how无论又如No matter how difficult the question is ,we have to answer it. 另外,no matter what无论什么no matter who 无论谁no matter where 无论哪里no matter when 无论何时 3.Try to do 尽量做,设法做 又如,We try to help the old man to find his way home. 4.prepare for 为做准备 又如,We are preparing for the English exam. 5.sweep out 扫掉,清除 又如,Could you help me sweep out the dust? 6.hang up 把挂起来。 又如,You may hang up the map on the blackboard. 7.on both sides of 在的两边 又如,There are some trees on both sides of the road. 8.make +n. +adj.使得处于状态 又如,He tries to make his lesson lively and interesting . 9. so that 通常和情态动词can ,could ,may ,might 连用引导目的状语从句。 又如,We got up early this morning so that we could catch up with the first bus. 10.set off 使爆炸 又如,Be careful with the firework ;the spark could set them off. 11.dress up 着装,打扮起来。 12.show respect to 向
