名词的所有格 格（case） 名词的所有格表示所属关系，它有两种构成方式，即-’s 所有格和 of 所有格。如： Jim’s room is big. 吉姆的房间很大。(Jim’s 为所有格) The gate of the school is beautiful. 学校的大门很美丽。(of the gate 为所有格) 所有格词尾 -’s的用法 (1) 在多数情况下，直接在名词加 -’s。如： This is our teacher’s room. 这是我们老师的房间。 The boy’s mother 那个男孩的妈妈 （2）如果是带词尾-s的单数名词，通常仍加 –’s 构成所有格。如： Bass’s words had a soothing effect. 贝斯的话有安慰的作用。 We don’t believe the boss’s promise. 我们不相信老板的承诺。 所有格词尾 -’s的用法 （3）若是以-s结尾的复数名词，则只加撇号。如： This is the teachers’ reading-room. 这是教师阅览室。 Two boys’ mother 两个男孩的妈妈 （4）不是以s结尾的复数名词，也要加’s，如：the chileren’s bag 孩子们的书包 mens room 男厕所。 所有格词尾 -’s的用法 一般地说， ’s 所有格多用于有生命的东西，of 所有格多用于无生命的东西， 但也有许多例外。 1)表示天体的名词的所有格用’s。例 the sun’s heat the moon’s surface2)表示国家地区的名词的所有格用’s。例 the city’s development　the government’s plan the city’s history 3)表示度量与货币价值、时间的所有格用’s。例 ten kilometres’ distance a twenty minutes’ walk Today’s weather Of属格的用法 Of 通常用于无生命的东西 如：the legs of the table桌子的腿 　　the name of the hill小山的名字 　　a map of China一幅中国地图 The window of our classroom 双重所有格 “双重所有格”形式，就是既含有‘s结构，又含有of短语，组合成了of＋’s结构。“双重所有格”的含义：一表示感情色彩，二避免重复，三加强语气。如： an old friend of my fathers我父亲的一位老朋友 the English book of your brothers你哥哥的英语书 the lovely son of your sisters你姐姐的这个可爱的儿子 that big nose of Toms汤姆的那个大鼻子 注意！ 一、双重所有格和只用of的所有格在意义上是不同的。试比较： 　　a photo of my mothers我母亲的一幅照片(照片是我母亲的，照片上的人却不一定是我母亲) 　　a photo of my mother我母亲的照片(照片上的人就是我母亲) 二、of前面通常有限定词a/an/some/two等 三、of后带’s的通常是名词性物主代词或具体的人的名称 练习 1.The woman over there is ______ mother.
