英语本科 How to improve the ability of listening， speaking， reading and writing How to improve the ability of listening， speaking， reading and writing Abstract Everyone knows that the ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing plays an important role in English studying. As a teacher of English, we must pay much attention to the fostering of these four abilities. Success in English teaching depends on the acquirement of these four abilities. This article aim at discussing the importance of listening, speaking, reading and writing ability in English learning and the ways of improving theses four abilities. Different methods for the improvement of the four abilities are offered in details. All of them have been carried on in my teaching and researching group, and proved that they are novel and effective ones. Here, they are listed to stimulate every English teacher’s interest to discuss and look for some better ones.
