Introduction to the Project 1. This project is the World Bank Financed Zhaotong Central City Environmental Construction Project (hereinafter referred to as the “Project”). The goal of the Project is to improve urban infrastructure that affects the urbanization process and strengthen pollution control as a priority of driving urbanization and a prerequisite to realizing sustainable economic and social development under the Eleventh Five-year Plan. 2. The Project is located in Zhaoyang District, Zhaotong Municipality, and consists of the three subprojects of the central city river management project, the northern area water supply and pipeline project and the central city sewage treatment and intercepting sewer project.
