Abstract
With the development of economy and technology, the education of our country is also in constant development. In order to strengthen education, most areas of our countrys curriculum should have to reform. The study in high school is an important turning point in students career. Many students are eager to enter a good university. English plays a significant role in student’s college entrance examination, so it is necessary to learn English well. Vocabulary is the key to learn English well, but many students think that it is very boring to learn English words. However, without vocabulary, they can not make a good sentence or write a good passage, so it is very important to help students learn vocabulary well. English teachers should be patient to every student. And they should take some methods to enhance students’ learning consciousness, and then to improve their study. Therefore,for English teachers, they not only aim to correct students’ attitude to vocabulary learning, but must to change their usual teaching methods, such as, by using multi-media for teaching.
This thesis mainly talks about the application of multimedia on English vocabulary teaching in high school and teachers take an active part in using multimedia to assist teaching, so as to stimulate students interest in learning and help students broaden their knowledge. By using multimedia in English word teaching, students will find it is very interesting in learning English words.
