The utilization of rapid detection methods could contribute to improving detection efficiency and reducing the detection cost. Some progress has been achieved in developing the rapid methods for detection of synthetic colorants in foods now. This paper reviewed the properties and application of the rapid methods for detection of synthetic co- lorants in foods.
