华 华 中 科 技 大 学 硕 士 学 位 论 文 II II Abstract B2C E-Commerce, represented by Amazon, gave the fourth revolution to the retail industry, after the department store, mail-order catalog and discount store, which shocked the enterprise marketing and communication channels around the world. Only 3 years later than American e-commerce, Chinese e-commerce has been the largest online market. As a developing country, the late-development advantage in technology made us to build e-commerce websites of all sizes rapidly under the copy of Amazon and eBay. However, the late-starting disadvantage in system and structure made B2C websites in America and China different in form. It‘s the purpose of this article to explore the differences of American and Chinese B2C e-commerce and the reason behind the differences. Based on the development of Chinese B2C e-commerce in 1999-2004, and contrast differences in B2C e-commerce development of China and the United States in this phase, this paper tries to reveal the causes of differences from the web users‘ value level. With the guidance of historical comparative analysis, by mixed using of existing statistical data, literature, newspapers and other sources of evidence, and through diachronic longitudinal comparison and international horizontal comparison we found that: the rapid development of Chinese B2C and C2C websites benefited from the late-development advantages of the imitations of American model; but the late-development disadvantages of structure, business environment, payment and logistics in the structure of logistics, on one hand restricted the developing of Chinese B2C websites, on the one hand mould the local characteristics of the Chinese B2C websites, making Chinese B2C e-commerce having the new and old forms meanwhile in development process.
