PAGE II 福多的个体主义及其局限性 摘　要 福多的个体主义主要涉及意向内容关系性质问题。意向内容关系性质问题由普特南的孪地球思想实验而引出，对该问题的讨论主要表现为意向内容外在论与内在论之争。外在论作为一种新的观点，它的提出一方面使心身附随原则得到了否定，另一方面也造成了常识心理学与科学心理学之间的矛盾。在此情况之下，福多为了维护心身附随原则，调和常识心理学与科学心理学之间的矛盾，提出了个体主义的观点。本文试图在意向内容关系性质问题的背景下，对福多个体主义做一分析介绍，并对福多个体主义遇到的一些理论困难进行考察与分析，指出个体主义在解决意向内容关系性质问题上的局限性，最后尝试性地提出一种解决意向内容关系性质问题的方法。 本文分为四个部分。第一部分介绍福多个体主义提出的理论背景，讨论外在论与内在论的主要观点及外在论的理论后果。第二部分考察福多个体主义的主要观点，即按因果效力对意向状态进行分类，及窄内容、宽内容的主张。第三部分在阐述福多个体主义基本观点之后，指出福多个体主义遇到的理论困难，分别从非关系性的对意向状态分类的方法、个体主义不能满足心理学解释的要求、个体主义的论证过程这三个方面分析个体主义存在的困难。第四部分将尝试性地提出一种关于意向内容关系性质问题的解决思路，即命题含义决定意向内容的观点，并论证这一观点与福多个体主义的一致性。 关键词：福多，个体主义，内在论，外在论，因果效力，意向状态，心理学解释 Fodors individualism and its limitations Abstract Fodor’s individualism is mainly concerned with the issue of mental content’s relational properties. This issue is caused by Putnams Twin Earth Thought Experiment,and is reflected by internalism and externalism.Externalism as a new view ,on one hand, denies the principle of supervenience,on the other hand, causes the contradictions between commonsense psychology and scientific psychology. Under such conditions,Fodor proposes the view of indivdualism,to maintain the principle of supervenience and reconcile the contradictions between the commonsense psychology and scientific psychology.This paper tries to introduce the mainpoint of Fodor’s individualism, and analyzes the difficulty of individualism,piont out the limitation of individualism.Inthe end I’ll propose a solution to the problem of mental content’s relational properties tentatively. The first part of this paper introduces the background of invidualism,talks about viewpoint of internalism and externalism,and theoretical consequences of externalism.The second part studys the viewpoint of individualism, namely individulating the mental state according to its causal power, narrow content and wide content.The third part points out the difficulty of individualism,from three aspects as follow:the nonrelational individualating the mental states, individualism ca
