Poetry often uses particular forms and conventions to suggest alternative meanings in the words, or to evoke emotional or sensual responses. Devices such as assonance, alliteration, onomatopoeia, and rhythm are sometimes used to achieve musical or incantatory effects. Among the different components of a poem, image is a very important and impressive part in poetry. It can effectively invoke inspiration as it can easily call forth people’s imagination. Therefore, the understanding of a poetry’s image is essential to the appreciation of the poem，forming a solid basis for poetry translation. And my essay is designed to analyze the subjectivity and objectivity of the images in “Ode to the West Wind”, and further criticize the defects and merits in the Chinese image translation. Key Words: Poetry image, Sociology and Linguistic, Subjectivity and Objectivity 从语言学，社会学角度分析诗歌《西风颂》中的意象翻译 摘要：诗歌是巧妙运用语言的文学形式，从中表现诗歌的美学特点与启示性。 诗歌通过其独特的形式与表现手法，常常赋予诗歌内容多样性与启示性的等特点。诗歌也通常运用头韵，拟声，押韵等方法来获得形式上，音律上的美感和效果。而在众多的诗歌组成部分中，“意象”这种组成成分既是十分重要的，也是十分有表现力的。由于诗歌极其容易唤起人们的想象或联想，从而给予读者独特的审美体验，表现诗歌本身的内涵。因此，了解诗歌中的意象对于了解诗歌来说是十分重要的，这也为翻译好诗歌打下坚实的基础。该论文将从社会学，语言学的角度来分析《西风颂》该诗作中意象的主体性与客体性，并评判其中文译作中意象翻译的优缺点。 关键词：诗歌意象，社会学与语言学，主体性与客体性 CONTENT 1.
