It is gradually more difficult to increase production and reserve of conventional petroleum resources. Thus the strategic position of unconventional oil and gas resources results to be ever more important. The evaluation, exploration and development of unconventional oil and gas resources have already become the research hotspot in the field of oil-gas geology. In order to sufficiently demonstrate the latest research results, to promote the international academic communications, and to drive the scientific and technological progress in geological evaluation, exploration and development of unconventional oil and gas, the State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation, along with the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), have decided to hold “The 9th International Symposium on Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation” during October 29-31, 2018. The Symposium topic is featuring with “Innovative Theories and Technologies of Unconventional Oil and Gas” (including tight sandstone oil and gas, shale oil and gas, coalbed methane, natural gas hydrate).
