An analysis of t he vocabulary test results reveals a clear p ositive correlation bet w een t he subj ects f requency of exp osure t o tar get w or ds an d t heir lear ning gains . The results also suggest t hat 18 may be t he t hresh ol d value of exp osure f or acquiring t he meanin g of new w or ds , w hich is necessar y f or it t o be used in p r oduction .
