Traditional piety culture and making the transition modernly Summary Abstract The traditional piety cuture that we mean, refers to broad sense piety cuture after Confucius transformed, but was not only in the narrow sense piety cuture shape existing on two aspects of“supporting”and “offering” sacrifices before Confucius. at Confucius’ place, “piety” is the end of “benevolence” feeling, is the beginning of courtesy, and “benevolence” is the result of “piety”.in this way, among coufucius’ system of piety ,inherent indentity about “piety” and “benevolence” and coexistence inside and outside about “benevolence”, “piety” and “courtesy”, form the unique characteristic of piety cuture that Confucins inherits and advocates. As a cuture phenomenon, the formulation and rheology of traditional piety cuture depend on the economic development of the society in the meaning after all, and the political state of the society determined by economy .So in order to carry on scientific explanation to praditional piety culture ,we make the analysis conscientiously to prudution foundation and rheology course of piety culture On the one hand .on the other hand ,we examine and study people’s criticism to traditional piety cuture again during the May Fourth Movment. we think, the idea and norm of the piety in China, have already been planted in soil of traditional cuture deeply through past dynasties sages and the recommending enderg etically of the rulers ,becoming deep psychological accumulation of cuture of Chinese nation, it is not merely influencing the Chinese thoughts, becoming codes of conduct of controlling people and moral integrity standards of judging people at the sametime. So, further investigate china’s traditional piety cuture and criticize ,inherit to it,namely the possibility of modern transition of traditional piety cuture and realistic way are sought ,there are important realistic meanings, to going on the morals construction of the socialism with Chinese characteristics
