A nd som e w ere in the low inten sity areas. It is mi po rtant to evalu ate the earthqu ake resistance of ex isting bu ild ings in earthquake-affected areas. T he expectat ion and variance o f dam age prob ab ility in know n intensit ies are calcu lated by m aking the probab ility dis- perse. T he exp ectation and variance of dam age prob ab ility in o ther intensities are g iven by com paring to that o f standard earthqu ake dam age m atrix. Supposing th at the dam age prob abilit ies for each inten sity obeys the Beta dis- tribution and the param eter of Beta-d istribut ion function is calcu lated from the expectat ion and var iance in other in- ten sities.
