In o rder to overcom e the w eakness, the hysteretic behavior of C steel m em bers w ith and w ithout interm ed iate stiffener w ere com p ared at first. The results show that the interm ed iate stiffener is effective to m odify the hysteretic beh av ior of th in-w all C stee l m embers.
