His academic writings aim at interpreting his ecocritical thought and engaging in theoretical construction of ecocriticism. Slovic has made an outstanding contribution to the internationalization and diversity of ecocriticism. Generally speaking， Slovic’s academic journey roughly coincides with the development of western ecocriticism. Therefore， we try to divide his academic activities of ecocriticism into three stages or three aspects， i.e. the nature writing research， the construction of ecocritical theories， and the cross-cultural ecological dialogues.
