Why developing Ni-free plating is needed The conventional decorative plating coatings are nickel-chromium, but some people are sensitive to nickle. So developing new type of finish coatings which has no risk for allergic contact dermatitis is needed. At first stage, Foxconn plating factory developed Cu/Pd/Cr process in 2006.There has no nickle element and cyanide in the whole process. The product has good performance as nickel-chromium process, so this process is confirmed by NOKIA and adopted in mass production quickly. Projects adopt low-cost nickle-free plating Foxconn plating factory didn’t content with actual technology, and developed a new low-cost nickle-free process based on Cu/Pd/Cr process in 2007. NOKIA DCT gave us a confirmation with this new process at the end of 2007.It enhanced our predominance greatly and has been adopted in mass production since January 2008. 3.
