This paper mainly introduces the basic knowledge of image fusion, shift invariant wavelet transform principle and algorithm design. We simulated the proposed image fusion algorithm with CT and MRI images in MATLAB7.0. Experimental results demonstrated the fused image contained key information and had high contrast by shift invariant wavelet transform method.
