II II ABSTRACT With the development of automobile industry, the increasing vehicle production and sales help transport development, but it causes environmental problems and energy problems. Electric vehicle drive motor is limited volume which works in vehicle but it should have higher output power, which requires the drive motor has a higher power density. On the other hand, the high power density increased loss. Due to the loss, the heat generated will be more significant which could easily lead to insulation aging and even burning motor. So how to make the heat dissipation effective becomes a research priority. In this paper, the motor cooling system is mainly made the following study. Firstly, using fluid-structure interaction and finite element method to analyze three typical water jacket structure cooling capacity. Application the basic principles of heat transfer, establish the water jackets models, discussed three water jacket fluid velocity. Using the results of velocity field calculate the convective heat transfer coefficient and study the temperature distribution of each water jacket and analyze the cooling capacity of the three water jacket. Secondly, discuss relationship between the structural parameters change and the water jacket cooling capacity. By studying the different tank width and depth model research the relationship between these parameters and the water jacket cooling capacity. Thirdly, discuss how the coolant flow rates change in cooling system and using different coolant affects the cooling capacity. Different flow rates will change the convective heat transfer coefficients and effects water jacket cooling capacity, so do use different coolant. Using water-cooling oil and water and ethylene glycol solvent as coolant mode the cooling system and study each temperature distribution. Finally, the temperature experiment of spiral structure cooling system is carried. Comparing the experimental results with the simulation results prove the flui
