Abstract
Patriotism has always been the banner to mobilize and inspire people to struggle and be united, the great force to promote social progress of the history and the spiritual pillar of the common people of all nationalities. Into the new century, international and domestic situation has undergone profound changes, patriotic education is bound to constantly innovate and develop to adapt to the new features and practical requirements of the times. Therefore, in the new historical period, how to strengthen patriotic education to achieve the innovation is a very important issue placed in front of us. This paper attempts to explore the innovation of contemporary patriotic education from the perspective of thinking innovation.
Thinking innovation is the precursor of all the innovative practices, a history of human civilization, in a sense which is a history of thinking innovation. The clear understanding of the new situation, new problems and new challenges of contemporary Chinese patriotic education is basic basis and premise to achieve thinking innovation of patriotic education. Diversity, globalization and information are the most important challenge of contemporary patriotism, especially value pluralism and diversification of the benefits which caused by market-oriented social transformation, the worship of money, utilitarianism and personal ideology, which raised by weaknesses and negative aspects of market economy impact the core values of socialism. Therefore, strengthening national cohesion and patriotic education has become the urgent requirements of the times and the need of national long-term interests. But the reality of patriotic education has many problems, such as lack of effectiveness of the implementation of patriotic education, short of exemplary model of patriotic education, lack of the times for content of patriotic education, and lack of adaptability of the path of patriotic education.
