万方数据 万方数据 Clinical Observations of Floating Acupuncture on Treating Cervical Spondylosis of Vertebral Type Major: Acupuncture and Tui Na Candidate: Xia Wei Supervisor: Li Li Hong [Abstract] Objective: Comparing with traditional acupuncture method, this research aims to observe the effects of floating acupuncture method on treating Vertebral Artery Type of Cervical Spondylosis (VATCS). The floating acupuncture method also serve as a catalyst to find better methods to treat VATCS. Method: Patients have been randomly selected into two 25 patient groups: the therapeutic group will receive floating acupuncture and the matched group will receive traditional acupuncture. Every treatment consists of 5 acupuncture sessions. Observations of the patient’s clinical symptoms and the average speed difference in the patients’ vertebral artery (VA) and basilar artery (BA) before and after the treatments for both acupuncture methods will be recorded and will make comparisons of the two treatment methods. Result: 1. There is a statistically significant difference in the two treatment methods’ overall curative effects (P＜0.05), a statistically significant difference in the groups’ before and after treatments’ the overall effectiveness scores (P 0.05), a statistically significant difference when comparing both groups’ symptoms after the treatments (P 0.05), no statistically significant difference when comparing both groups’ clinical symptoms after the treatments (P 0.05), and a statistically significant difference when comparing the scores of both groups before and after symptoms and clinical symptoms after the treatments (P 0.05).2. The clinical results for both treatments: the floating acupuncture group had a total effective rate of 92 % with a markedly effective rate of 88%; however, the traditional acupuncture group had a total efficiency rate of 88% with a markedly effective rate of 68%.
