POLSAR is the new SAR radar system which is built on the traditional SAR system. POLSAR’s significant advantage is that it can obtain the full polarization scattering information compared to conventional unipolar SAR. The full- polarization scattering characteristics of the target has essential link with the shape, the structure and the physical properties of the target itself. POLSAR simulation technologies have a positive and important role to optimize the system, meet user requirements, test algorithm of images simulation, interpret image and many other aspects. It is also a extremely important link in the development and research of POLSAR. Firstly, this article is organized to provide an overview of SAR system, the polarization of electromagnetic waves, On this basis, the POLSAR images simulation is in the order of the rough surface, the natural goals and the man-made goals. When the rough surface image is simulated, the physical optics model and the small facet model are studied first of all. Then the results on the above two models are given, and the decomposition of the simulation results are given. When the vegetation image is simulated, the three-layer model and the ellipsoid particles model are studied. Then the results on the two models and the decomposition of the simulation results are given. When the building image is simulated, the cuboid model is studied initially, then the improved model based on the cuboid model is advanced. The results on the two models and the decomposition of the simulation results are given in the end. Imaging simulation and experimental results show that: the simulation results in this paper is effective. The POLSAR images of requirements objectives can be simulated.
