AbstractHigh-pressure Abstract High-pressure gas discharge lamp(HGDL)has promising market due to hi罟h luminous efficiency,long life and good colorimetric chⅢacteristic．The part ofsealing is important for HGDL and IIC(X]$hi曲temperature resistant,corrosion-resistant,hi曲 pressure-resistant and hi曲air鼬t．ne conventional sealing ofHGDL is usually ofthe sandwich type benv啪a thin Mo foil and a fused silica envelope．Due tO the difference in thermal expansion belween Mo and silica,high residual s吨嚣develops during sealing and operation,which often results in crack and delamination．In this study,the Mo／Si02 FGM is fabricated tO apply into sealing for relaxing residual s血ess． The dense samples were obtained by spark plasma sintering(SPs)．m mechanism of sintering fused quartz powder was studied．n地result indicates that fused quartz is sintered by exterior fused．The size of mould and pressure of sintering affect the sintering behavior．m appropriate sintering condition is as below：1150℃～ 1200C、20MPa、5mim The relative density ofthe obtained fused quartz reaches 95．8 ％～99．7％(relmes to the size ofmonld)． The sintering behavior ofpure Mo and additive Ni，Cu in Mo alloy sintered by SPS Was studied．111e experimental results illustrate that the relative density of pure Mo smt嚣ed at 1200C is only go．1％．n坞powders Ni and Cu c越promote the density of sintered Mo．In the processing of sintering,Cu powder malts and Ni, dissolves in liquid Cu．The relative density of Mo alloy is 99．1％when the content of additiveNiis 3％andCuis2％． 11Mo／SiOz composites with different Mo content wm fabricated by SPS at the condition of 1200*C-20MPa-5min．The relative density,electrical property, mechanical property and thermal property were measured and the microstructure waB observed．11le relative density is promoted because Mo particles fill into the holes of fused quartz．Winl the increasing Mo content,the Mo powders disperse into the timed quartz to form percolation鲥anctore,which leads to the conducting of the composit
