桂林工学院硕士学位论文Abstract 桂林工学院硕士学位论文 Abstract Grid is important direction of the next generation‘of the information technology．It is the third technical revolution after the traditional internet and the world wide web．By integration of whole net into titanic supercomputer。a grid enable entire s}laring of such resources as computing power，software，storage，data and information．Grid users use these resource just 1 ike the power grid． WebGIS is a practical modal of the di stributed architecture of GIS．Cou脚K)n users Can obtain geographical information conveniently and cheaply．But there are many problems in WebGIS such as cannot realize the operation of crossing platform,difficult to develop，debug and maintain， the heavy burden of the server,the concentration of computation relatively leads the large-scale sharing of resources very difficult，and lack of cooperative mechanism．These issues show that_ebGIS is not able to fully meet the distributed application of GIS．The grid is a super distributed technology of application．The combination between grid and GIS better solve the outstanding problems of the distributed application of GIS，and leads the GridGIS． This paper discusses the basic concept，supporting technology，architecture，grid spatial database technology of GridGIS，and provides the technology systems of the reality of GridGlS． This paper specifies the grid concept，development stages．and the relation between grid and internet and web with the related grid technology．It describes the developing cycles of GIS，the study background of GridGIS，and analyzes the limitation of distribute computation traditional GIS。and gives the influence GIS of the grid and our opportunities and challenges facing GridGIS． In next part，the article analyzes the related technology of GridGIS，inc luding WebGIS， Web Service，the grid platform：globus toolkit，the architecture of the grid and GirdGIS．Then it studies the relation of the OGSA,OGSI，WSRF and Web Service by comparing them and simply describ
