状态机模型和基于进程模型的描述方法。在实际描述中，可以灵活的综合使用这两 状态机模型和基于进程模型的描述方法。在实际描述中，可以灵活的综合使用这两 类模型。本文还讨论了一种基于输入／输出动作序列的描述方法。在协议描述的研究 中，本文还针对RSL的特点，尝试了将面向对象的思想引入到描述中去。最后，以 RIP协议的简化路由算法为实际示例，使用RSL对其进行了描述。 关键词：协议工程；形式化描述技术；RAISE规范语言(RSL)； Ⅱ AbstractProtocol Abstract Protocol engineering is all integrated and formal process of protocol development． The development of protocol includes processes of protocol design，protocol description， protocol verification，protocol implementation,protocol testing，and protocol maintenance．Here“integrated’means：every process of protocol development should link up with each other,and all processes ale completed under the same development system．While“formal”means using formal description language(FDL)to link up every process of protocol development． Formal description technology is the kernel among all processes of protocol engineering．It runs through all the development process，and it has beenⅡ1e hotspot of the protocol engineering field．Now there have already been some models for protocol formal description：models based on FSM，models based on Petri nets，models based on process algebra such as CCS and CSP,temporal logic(TL)etc．And there also have been some protocol formal description languages：Lotos，Estelle，SDL etc．Each formal method has its own advantages and shortcomings during the description,and there still lacks a method，which call satisfy the need of protocol engineering by far． This paper mainly researched formal description technology based on RSL．It was the first time to use RSL in the protocol engineering field．As the specification language of RAISE，there are two virtues while using RSL to describe a protoc01．The firSt one is universality．It allows rational abstracting during the description of a protocol；and using RSL during all processes，which means the whole development is under the same semantic franle．The second one is its rich and flexible way of description．It allows one to choose a reasonable semantic model to describe a protocol using RSL
