A long span steel space trussw as tested by add ing artificialmass, and its vertical vibration frequenciesunder d ifferent amount ofmass w ere measured. Static and dynam ic tests w ere carried out at point w ith m axmi um deflection. 10kN and 20kN w eights at the pointw as added by suspension basket respectively, vertical stiffnessw as derived. V ibration measure- ments show that there are no obvious predom inant frequencies under m icro-tremor excitation; but good w aveform and obvious predom inant frequencies aremeasured if the truss is excited by sudden pu lse. Phase lag analysis tech- n ique is employed in data process. First frequencies under differentm ass are obtained, and they can be used to ca-l ibrating analysis model used in design stage.
