People do not realize that their personal information has been commercialized and packaged for sale at an affordable price. These personal information are in a wanton circulation between insurance companies, Estate agents and other organizations. At this Moment, the disclosure of personal information hanppens everywhere, and many peoples lives get severely disturbed. Facing to the increasingly rampant situation of disclosure of personal information, the public eager the relevant laws issued from government. Almost each nation around the world thinks highly of the protection and studies of personal information rights. Unfortunately, in our country, there is no formal sense of the Personal Information Protection Act. The protection of personal information are scattered in the Constitution of the Peoples Republic of China, the General Principles of Civil Law, the criminal law, other relevant laws and regulations and the judicial interpretations of the Supreme Court. And they are mainly about name, portrait, reputation, privacy and so on. Because of this defect, the judicial remedy for the personal information of citizens has become very embarrassing and passive. Becides the introduction and conclusion, this thesis is separated into three major parts. In the first part, I put forward the concept and characteristics of personal information, analyse the current situation of the personal information protection in China, and list four cases which including a few typical events of the disclosure of personal information, leading to the analysis of the focus of controversy in these cases below.
