As the ex perimental treatments, S . rostr ata issues harvested on the site w er e re moved fr om the site or bur ied into the tailings as the green manure. Chang es of tailing s chemical and physical properties, g er mination, growth and heavy metal accumulatio n of Lolium multif lor um w ere investigated. T he results showed that cropping of S . rostr ata impr oved the chemical and physical propert ies of the tailings, espe cially for the contents of organic matter , total nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium.
