Step 2 Word Study Learning vocabulary is one of big challenges for students, so they should better try to master a concise number of basic vocabulary and a set of strategies to deal with the rest of the vocabulary they encounter in a sensible way——the FORM strategy. When using the FORM strategy, students look at the word form and guess the meaning from putting together all the information they can get out of a word, looking at the prefix, the base (root) and the suffix of a word.
