For the grinding process developing, the grinder has a quite proportion in the machine tool. The grinding process and the grinder have a very important place in the machine manufacturing. In a word, grinding process has a high speed for develop. The paper consists of preface, general layout design, the design of vertical feed, choose V band， choose an electric motor，conclusion and compliment. The preface introduces are selected topic reason and design duty，the grind of characteristics and present situation of development at home and abroad. There is a simple introduce for the general layout design and the design of grinding head. And the mostly introduce are choose V band, choose an electric motor or application of grinding machine. At last, the conclusion the make a review for the design and make a view for the machine tool manufacture.
