Draft Resolution 1.1 Committee: Economic and Financial Committee Topic: Oil Crisis in 2040 Sponsors: Nigeria, Angola, Sudan, Argentina, Egypt, Venezuela, Russia, Cuba, Signatories: Iran, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, South Africa, Colombia, China, Iraq, Pakistan, Algeria, Afghanistan, Belgium, Canada ,China, , Czech Republic, DR Congo, Denmark, East Timor, France, Brazil, The General Assembly, Recalling its resolutions 61/194 of 20 December 2006, 62/188 of 19 December 2007, 63/211 of 19 December 2008 and 64/195 December 2009 on the oil price control strategies, Taking into consideration to the basic principles of International Labor Organization on international labor insurance and resolutions to deal with unemployment workers when the companies transfer their company organizing form and industry transition, Welcoming conscientious strategies to take all kind of countries into consideration, when facing the loss of profits in the oil trade, from members of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Recognizing the Long-Term Strategy (LTS), adopted in Vienna on 14 October 2010 by OPEC, says that in order to prevent economic recessions and oil crisis aggravating, not only needing to concern about revenues of OPEC Member Countries, but also think about fair and stable oil prices, OPEC’s share of world oil supply, the stability of world oil market, the security of a regular supply to oil consuming countries, Bearing in mind the basic aims1 of International Energy Agency (IEA) and Deploying Renewables: Principles for Effective Policies 2 published by IEA, The aims of IEA cover 6 main points and the most relevant part to oil crisis is to promote international collaboration on energy technology, to improve the world’s energy supply and demand structure by developing alternative energy sources and increasing the efficiency of energy use and to maintain and improve systems for coping with oil supply disruptions.
