She said that after Sept. 1, 1985, she joint French-American team located the wreck of the Titanic. That set off a wave of interest in the ship and its fate that crested in 1996 with James Cameron’s blockbuster movie “Titanic”. Ms. Dean said all she knew of what happened during the sinking she had learned from her mother.
