The Draft Shipping Law, which was the fifth chapter of the Code, was no doubt applied to such valuation. The analysis in the paper is mainly based on the change of the shipping industry structure in the late 19th century, which subsequently led to various types of western maritime rules being introduced into China, and conventional Chinese maritime rules had been gradually abandoned.
